Soda Blasters I Need Advise!!!

I have the option to purchase an Accustrip 11SX for $2500.00, it is like new and only used a few times, I have seen it. I am kinda up in the air about investing in this because I am not sure of the market or if that is even a good deal. I think it is a 50lb capicity pot, how long can you soda blast on that amount and what can it do that my other blasting pots cant? I know fire restoration is a good one and it wont warp body metal.. Is $2500.00 a good deal for this?? There is only one other small time guy who does this and he charges $80.00 to $90.00 per bag to blast. Would this be a wise investment at this price?

Not sure how long 50lb would last in that pot, but mine go through 100lb in 45 to 50 minutes. Yes you would want a after cooler and water separaters soda need dry air. It would be one more services that you offer.

Re: Soda Blasters I Need Advise!!!

Bulldog, I think I am going to get rid of my truck and buy a trailer to mount the compressor and pot on. That seems more simple and less work climbing up into the back of the truck everytime I need to choke the pot. I would like to have that soda blaster but the price of putting an aftercooler and air dryer on just isn't in the books this month. What size trailer do you think??Do you hull your media in your truck or on the trailer with the equipment? Just when I thought I had my set up ready to go......Here I am changing things. My main reason is that I can just back the trailer into the barn and its all out of the weather. The wicked cycle is continuing....

Re: Soda Blasters I Need Advise!!!

Hi Killzone

I do not use a trailer at this time, but have thought about it for my pickup. I would get a 18 or 20 foot trailer that I could build a box in front to hold bags of media. Put the compressor in the middle and then the pot in the back.

When there is only one person blasting I like the smaller pots that you can get close to where you are blasting so you can adjust it with out much trouble.

I just posted some pictures of the second truck that I just got together.
