Shipping Costs More Than The Media!
So I checked my e-mail again this morning and the lady from Marco tells me that shipping on a pallet of crushed glass will be $340 - $330. I called and asked if that was total or if that was JUST the cost of the shipping. I didn't get in touch with the same lady I had been dealing with, but the woman I spoke to informed me that she can assure me that the $340 is JUST for shipping and the price of the glass hadn't been added to that yet. So, I'm looking at $230 for crushed glass and $330 just to have it shipped here. Does anyone else see something wrong with that? She gave me the whole schpeel about how the price of gas is going up and "you wouldn't believe how many people are complaining about that..." She was very friendly, but I still couldn't believe that.
It's $7.99 a bag and I can just buy about 12 bags from TSC. That's roughly $96 and a few bucks in gas to run to Tractor Supply as opposed to almost $600 for crushed glass. So, I still want to try the equipment out on the deck and I was wondering if coal slag from Tractor Supply would be OK or would it be too agressive? I'd like to get blasting either Friday or Saturday. I'm itching to get into it. |

I looked on the internet and couldn't really find anyone closer. Do you know of anyone? I only have a 4 cylinder Toyota Tacoma. That won't carry 1 ton of glass.

Re: Shipping Costs More Than The Media!
I ended up picking up 14 bags from Finishing Systems in York, PA. A doable drive instead of paying $300 to ship $220 worth of glass bead.
