Schmidt Micro/combo ??
I rebuilt my pinch valve and was using a clemco dead man. The pot would pressure up just fine but when I let off the dead man it would continue to blast and would not depressurize. I was told that the Micro/combo had be use with a Schmidt dead man. I purchased one today and installed it. It is plumbed up correct. When depressed, it pressurizes the tank fine. If I let off within a few seconds, it will depressurize ok, but if I hold the dead man for about a minute and let off, it will not depressurize the pot. Any Ideas on what's going on??

Re: Schmidt Micro/combo ??
Check out the hose where it is being pinched at for wear.if it feels soft and spongy its bad and ready to blow which is normal wear and tear.if you use a donkey di*k flip it so it has a fresher place to pinch or flip hose. cut your hose at about a foot away from the pinch valve replace coupling blast off.

Re: Schmidt Micro/combo ??
The pot is pressurizing up fine, with no leaking through the pinched hose. Would that make it not depressurize the pot? For some reason the pinch is not releasing once I let off of the dead man..

Re: Schmidt Micro/combo ??
Ok, I got it all figured out... When I rebuilt my pinch valve cylinder I replaced some o-rings and one large seal is specific to direction. I installed it backwards so when I let off the deadman, the air was blowing around the seal not pushing it back to release the pinch vlave. I just put this info out there incase anyone else has problems. I did learn that the Schmidt mico combo was specific to which deadman was used. When you release the clemco deadman, air diverts out the orifice on the deadman. When you release the Schmidt, no air comes out, it forces it back to move the cylinder. Schmidt however can be used on all blasting bots, Clemco deadmans are specific to Clemco pots an others with similar to that valve system. FYI ONLY!!!! Its all trial and error boys!!!
