Re: Post Pics Of Your Sandblasting Setup!

I just like the idea of having everything loaded on one unit. I am sure my compressor would work on my truck, it is a 1 ton truck. I like the set up Plaz has. Maybe a 14' trailer so I could hull media on it also. I could pull it all with my Dodge truck, and when I am done just back it into the barn, nothing sits in the weather, and it is all only a few feet from the ground. Plaz, what did the trailer cost? If I could hull my pot, compressor and media on my truck I would be all over that idea. May take some measurements and get some specs on my compressor. Any Idea what an Atlas Copco 185 weighs?

MediaMan I will have the after cooler and water separator out side of the box also I have a flexible pipe on the exhaust to run out one of the little side doors. I have not seen any problem yet.
The truck is a 2004 and I got it for wholesale.

Bulldog,
Is there a wholesale dealer in your area that you bought it from? Do they have a website? I'd like something similar but minus the box. I want a headache rack and flatbed. What size load can it handle?

Tony, great setup you have there. Yes, thats a must with the exhaust, so you have all those fumes in there. I would also see if its possible to pipe the gas lines out as well. Or does the gas hose reaches into the truck? Are both of your units active or just depends on the type of job?

Re: Post Pics Of Your Sandblasting Setup!

Mediaman my brother is the one who got it for me through a person that he worked in the past with, that is how I got it at there cost. The truck came out of NC. I think the load is 12000lb but I do not see more than 8000lb every being in it.

Plazaman both truck are working not all the time but it seem to picking up here. the small doors on the sides are for fueling the compressor and running the air and exhaust hoses out.

For those kicking around a smiliar setup, can you post roughly what the setup cost you? If you are comfortable with that, I know some people don't like to share that information and that's fine as well.

Plazaman we are marketing to everybody and anybody that may need our services or may know somebody that need our services. My wife goes through the yellow pages and picks a catagory and sends letters and flyers of our services. I have had call from people that see the signs on the truck, our website works great. We hand out flyers at car shows and anywhere we can leave a card. Have a yellow pages ad, tell anyone we tallk about our business, etc, etc, etc.

Kill,

Did you mean I need to get that as a 2nd moisture seperator, or do you mean that I should replace my existing one with the one you linked me to? Would you guys say that all that is worth $900? I'll soon be posting pics of my moms deck to see how much media and what kind you think. She was going to have it pressure washed, but I wanted the practice. Thanks for the replies.

wow, that is quite the setup! I love the idea of the compressor stationed inside the box. I was looking at trailers recently and thinking of doing the same thing with it.

Re: Post Pics Of Your Sandblasting Setup!

That's an awesome setup blastserv. My only question is why not have the compressor at the front of the box in front of the half door. Seems like you're losing a couple feet of valuable space by having in front of the man door.

i didnt have a pull truck before i started so i was going to have to buy both the trailer and the truck so this was cheaper...there is only one thing to say about this setup..."perfect".

i am so pleased with the portability of this setup and how it works into the situatuon of being mobile.the only downside i have found so far is the compressor sucks throught the vents in the side of the box and blows out the hot air the engine produces out the side with the exhaust...straight up to the roof and heats up the side of the truck and in 2 situations where the small door on the pass. side was closed the compressor shut down due to the heat sensor...not good, really.i just have to keep that door open until i fiqure it out.

i think i will put some kind of fan in the small door and see iif that helps but that holds me back from being completely mobile.now i have to plug into 110v and i would rather not.i thought of using a inverter but that is not gonna hold up against the draw a 18 or 24 inch barrel fan will produce.

i will keep everyone updated and if you want to know a answer to one of your questions i will gladly help as i am no veteran but i am someone that likes the discussion too...

Think about one or several of those 12V radiator fans they sell at the auto parts store. That worked for the 6cyl generator in my one truck.
