If you hit the brakes real hard does that thingy in the back of the truck bounce off the cab, or just break the rear window? I would add another tie down on that rascal.

But seriously, that is a nice set up.

Re: Pictures Of My Equipment

Just curious, but what is the CFM of the outfit you are using? I have an 85 Schramm compressor and would like to have a pot like that one.

Never has to hit brakes hard yet, maybe I should put another strap to the back.

Yeah, I would strap it back. Always best to have a 4 point tie down, but looks like three will be ok here. You can also add a headache rack.

OK, I'll admit I know little about production sandblasting, but the capacity of your pot looks small, to me.
Am I wrong?

How long do you blast for? Around what temp and humidity?

Ive attempted a Soda Job this monday, everything started off well. After lunch, i noticed production slowed down. After opening the nozzle, i found the soda to be wet.

I am using a Water induction nozzle, (WIN 4) . Does water ever mixes with baking soda in the nozzle?

Tmr- his pot is small , but when shooting soda, tiny particles 260 microns, it should give you decent blasting time between fills , it also depends on your metering. Monday was my 2nd attempted soda job but my 1st job where we could actually blast for 1+ hour. I was amazed how far 1 bag went. I was under the impression that 1 bag would last 15 mins, not in this case.

I have a 3.5 cu pot, which is huge. When filled, i guess i could blast at least 2.5 hours without filling with my current metering postion.

Ive blasted coal slag a few months ago, the particles are much larger compared to 260 micron baking soda, that i had to fill about every 15 mins. In those cases, you wished you had a larger pot.

r
Will the nice thing is I can move the pot around and get to out of the way areas. With a full pot I can blast for about a hour between refills and at that point i am ready for a little break.

I was going to add the 'Canadian' version of the www.surfacetekinc.com unit - it's the exact same blaster, just a different name from a different distributor. I've demo'd the unit and thought it was great...
