Panderson 2414

Bismark you out there. Im going on a bid trip in your area I want to Know If you are one of the guys Im going to have to out bid. I want to team up. The bids are private. They are for large steel tanks in South Dakota. If you know where they are or if you have already put in a bid I would like to know what you spec'd. I usually get double the public market. Paul P. Re: Panderson 2414

Last year I gave you a job in Ulen. This year I have Two tanks in South Dakota. I need and want your help. I dont want to blast nurse tanks. I want you to take care of the chaff. I want a person who can get the leads, You. I will get the big tanks. If you are not on your own as a blaster that means I will pay you for all the blasting you can do in a weekend, or days off . It seems like a good deal to me because you can become independant of your job if you are willing to work. You dont have to take time off your job and I will pay for abrasive by the ton. That means you dont have to buy minni bulks from Glass Blast. The last and most important thing is my best contractor buddy was up in Aberdeen about a month ago. He was doing a pool there and made some good $$$. I was left out of it. This may be a good thing for both of us.

Re: Panderson 2414

I am not for sure yet. I usually have to sell interiors. I have had a hard year so far. I usually start in march we have been reduced to shop jobs and in yard blasting. Today I pushed my customers and locked in one 77' x 32" exterior and pipes. One 122' x 54' exterior old school tank, and one 40' x44'. That all I have so far. I have one guy looking at about 120,000 sq. ft. of liners with series 61. That is the job I need to get salaries paid. Im starting on a pool this weekend in Spring Grove MN. I will get some pics on my profile. It is a small pool in a valley. I speced. fc 20 three coats. It is currently coated with thororoc products. The place is supposed to have a web site Hiddenbluffs resort.com. I havent looked it up because the job fell into my lap.

Re: Panderson 2414

You need to start looking at Polyurea as a lining option in the fuel tanks. It sells good due to it's durability and it's resistance. It has been selling real good here in Birmingham. If it can sell in Birmingham, then it can sell anywhere. If the tank bottom can pass a API test and after a few repairs to the tank bottom, Abrasive blast per SP-6 Test for Salts, Treat for Salts, Re-Blast to SP-10 and spray away. Apply around 80-100 mils and you have a liner in that will be good for 20 or more years. Here is a link to the product that I have been specifiying here in Birmingham.

Sorry I missed you man. Must not have been in here looking when you posted. I have a equipment set-up and training class to do in Cleveland the 18th of this month. I will be there for about three days. It is a new Polyurea rig. Been kinda slow. Give me a call sometime.

Paul, Give me a call if you get a chance. You mention Bismarck and a job in Ulen but im not sure if you are directing that toward me. Anyway, we would love to team up or take sub work in the tristate area, we have good equipment and great staff. We have 32 fuel tanks on the books for the year so far and we are looking to cover more.

Benny I am in the middle of jobs, but I am back to work for May. I get a little pissy, I will admit I am an Asshole most of the time on this site but this is a site to learn. 185"S and 250"s are the start of sandblasting,,, You have got to start somewhere right?

Re: Panderson 2414

No sorry Paul I don't think that was me. Blast Pro has been in business for about 3 years but I wasn't involved up until I took over last year. You might be talking about another guy with a smaller part time business that is located in the Bismarck Mandan area. If you have work that you are looking to sub out or partner up with let me know, we are always looking to turn more business where possible. We are looking at some very large goverment jobs in the near future. More qualified help in the blasting and coating arena would be a plus in jobs where our equipment and staff capacity would be considered lean. We are in the process of applying for 8A goverment procurement small disadvantaged business status, once this takes hold the work load will most certainly increase dramaticly. 701-202-8406 Shawn Greenwood Blast Pro Inc.

Blast pro. I dont get into the public sector. I have the coverage for it but I like to Know my customers, I dont like G.C. work but if you can get the paper work done and need the insurance of an umbrella I think I can help. I Know most of my customers on first name basis, I did however see a sign up today for the American Rieninvestment Act on I-90 That made me wonder how I could get my hands on some of that. I was kind of angry. They were peeling off about an inch and replacing it with re-heated tar. The Boys even had a huge new bill board for it.

We aren't involved with that one, all work and no profit really sucks but sometimes its what keeps the lights on. Let us know if we can help.

Re: Panderson 2414

Today was a great day. I was called on and got my bids in. I have enough now to pay the hands. This is my advice to the rest of us in the sandblasting and coatings community. Find a way to supply yourselves with bulk abrasive. Today 70$ a ton for coal slag. I refuse to use anything other. I cannot use silica cant use garnet and recycle it. I found a supplier reed minerals that will supply for my next job in portageville mo. Iam on my way to Hills Ia for an interior job that will last two weeks. The supplier for the coal slag is the plant that makes it. DONT buy bags find out who makes coal slag and use that plant. Marco or simmalar distributers take a huge profit on selling abrasive to us. you also dont have use coal slag riivver rock will also work but will not cut as fast. works well on new steel but will not cut paint. I have used this site to get to know other blasters and find out comen problems. The biggest issue for me has been fuel cost last year was a bitch with 4.00$ . I was still in the black even after a disater with a lead paint removal job I was not qualified for. I am spooling up for the next two weeks. I wont be able to reply because Hills Ia is in the sticks but good luck. Find cheap fuel cheap abrasive and dont let the big paint companies screw ya, Heading out for two weeks. P.A.
Benny Abbot check out the Anderson's I lost Hartungs to them they have thier own coatings department you may find work with them good luck!!!!
