Nozzle Size Question.

If I go down a size from a 5 to a 4 for blasting soda will I save on usage or just get less work done for the extra hang time I might get?

Re: Nozzle Size Question.

Glen, I just try'd this two days ago on a boat, With Soda...

Tried 4, 5, 7, 8

4 worked good for a smaller jobs, compressor didn't barly kick up, thought it was a little slow. (but was doing a large area)

5 was also good, better than 4 but still a bit slow.

7 seemed to give the best psi, patteren and time.

8 was wasting grit, psi drop, compressor running on high end.

Could be different on a car or other project.

I have a nozzle from a cabnet blast gun. sized it up to fit hose. this works good for really small areas or detail blasting (Pencel Blasting)

Re: Nozzle Size Question.

I figured an 8 would be too much but I did get a 7. I think I'll try the next boat one side with a 5 and empty the pot and refill to do the side with the seven and make sure to check the time and lbs. It'l be interesting to see the difference.

Re: Nozzle Size Question.

Glen, I'm running a 185 at 100psi

if your compressor is bigger than an 8 might do fine.
