Breyer, I'm in Pottstown. If you ever need a bag of soda on short notice or anything stop by.

Re: New Guy

Cash did you show us a picture of your set up? A chock valve is most likely a ball valve like what is used on regular air and water supplies. On your pot it would serve to limit the amount of media flow to match the psi, cfm and type of media inoder to get the most efficient blast. You will just have to adjust it now and then to learn what works for you. Because it works by a hollow steel blall being turned escew which limits the size opening inside the valve it may wear out in a short time. You may want to have another on hand for quick repairs.

Eccept for some soda only pots, the commercial pots we all use have much more advanced mixing systems on them that allow a more sensitive adjustment with less wear. From the type of valve it sounds like you may be using a pot designed for a do it your selfer, which is fine, I started with a small Harbor Frieght set up before I knew anythiing. But if you are not yet working with a larger cfm unit you will be truely amazed at the difference when you move up.

Re: New Guy

A Choke valve is used to clear a clog in the blast pot. It shuts off the air pressure going straight to the blast hose and directs all pressure to the pot chamber to push the clog out. When there is a clog you turn the valve in the OFF position while the pot is running and then turn back on after about two to three seconds. This should push a small clog right on thru. During pot operation this valve is always run in the fully open position. This valve would be a Ball Valve as well.

Re: New Guy

Thanks Benny all the pots I have run in the past just had a single line to bottom no valve. If it cloged we shut down and took it apart to clean it. Man this new stuf is nice.
