Limestone Media?

One of my suppliers now has limestone to offer. $17 a bag. It's about a #3 on the mohs scale. Soda is a #2.5 Any one use this yet. What can it do that soda or crushed glass can't. It's much cheaper than soda but much more than glass. Does it leave any residue like soda.
