Unfortunately no cash up front on this one......
If I get another from them we can work it out, since I'm done and they are happy. Only problem was some low millage which is above spec after two days of hand rolling that puppy

The scaffolding was more for the enclosure,
I shot it standing on the ground as far as I could reach then climbed up one side and shot the top out. The scaffolding makes it look higher than it really is though.

Good luck on your silo job

Riard, I got home again tonight. I have had the wierdest year in my life for that. I spend most of the summer in super 8 motels. The interiors of the corn and soybeans tank are underway. I had to break down and buy a camera. You guys have to see this stuff. We call them corn poop jobs. Because when you get done you smell like **** for about three days

Sounds like it. You have the largest distributer for Dust Collectors, Containment Tarps and so on in New Orleans. Eagle Industries.
http://www.eagleind.com/site.php

There shipping should have been cheaper anyway. I could rent a 40,000 CFM for a month for $5,000 not including shipping and I think that was around $1,200 from New Orleans to Birmingham and that was when the fuel prices was higher.

$7500 for a dust collector, Dam you could party on that money why not just put two dust socks sticking out of containment and use air supplied PPE and blast away $500 instead of $7500

Wess I believe that was a lead based paint in which case he may have used a collector with special filtration as required by law. If you ever blast anything high profile that is lead and you are not certified you may loose your but.

You have to remember that HE didnt spend $7500 on the dust collector. The customer spent $7500. If his mark-up is a percentage of the cost of the job, which usually is the case, then he's better off.

If the customer didn't approve the original quote, then it would have been time to shop around for cheaper alternatives.

Don't be afraid of spending other people's money!

Good work Rlaird!

Re: If You Are In The Market For A New Pot.....

Thanks Joe for the compliment but I did spend 7500 and all cash up front so until it gets back in my hand that's a big hit.Probably be a month if I'm lucky if not 60 to 90 days. Here is the deal, was a lead based paint removal job with environmental guys just waiting for a puff of dust to come out of the enclosure, if it had we would've been run off before the dust could settle,I was told that much before we ever started.we had to decon every time we came out of containment etc etc. Point is, a dust sock would've ended my career in lead abatement, not to mention theguy that subs me.
Sometimes you gotta go the distance, 7500 is like 10 cents to these guys.
