I Think I'm Done

What should I ask for my equipment? What do you think I can sell it for? I got some bills to pay after my wife had surgery and for as much as I've blasted, I could use the money from a sale since I don't get a lot of jobs.

Every man has his priorities... Good luck to you.. Im not sure what those 300# pots sell for. Its a bad time to sell stuff like that.. Might want to wait until spring. Go see some local body shops and steel mfg. companies.

Re: I Think I'm Done

Is there anything else you can do to take the financial blow?? You wont get much for the stuff with the way the economy is. Go hunt down a few jobs and get them done. If I were in your shoes, I would hold onto the potential for a self employed business. It may not happen right now, but when you get back on your feet, it will happen. Tax time is here pay with that money. Again I don't know your current financial situation but you have a business sitting in your garage. All you need is a compressor. If you can swing it, keep it...... You seem to have that passion to learn most lack.. I have made more money this year already than I have ever made blasting. I am sure you equipment is paid off now lets find you a compressor......Did you get my PM about that one?

Re: I Think I'm Done

I have some interest in a 300lb pot only, no hose or nozzles.
What are you asking? Thanks

Re: I Think I'm Done

Around December, we found out we were having a baby and we lost it after about 8 weeks, so there is quite a bill from my wifes surgeries associated with losing the baby. I would just be selling the one complete setup. My dad had bought the other one, but said I could use it if something did come up. Kill, I got your PM, but when I hit the link, it said the post had been deleted. Also, I saw "Anchorage" in the link, and I don't think I want to go to Alaska for a compressor, but I do appreciate you looking.

I won't be giving up having my own business, but it just wouldn't be blasting. I have another idea in mind where I would use some of the money (besides bills). I know I'm at a point where if I had my own compressor, I'd be able to do more work and make more of a profit, but I don't have the cash to buy a compressor, and don't want to go further in debt. Also, I just have a little 4 cyl. truck that barely gets around with the pot, hoses and media in the bed plus towing the compressor, and I really don't have the cash to buy a bigger truck. I'm not necessarily out of blasting forever, but I think for now, it's not going to work for me.

I have someone interested locally who has given me work in the past. Obviously I realize that if I sell him the stuff, I won't get business from them, but I don't think they plan on being mobile. I'd also like to work something out where I get a small percentage of any work I send to them, but that's just my idea. I haven't even talked to them about it. You think I could get $1800 for everything?

My Marco 3.5, 150 psi and electric shut off (pressure hold), water trap
with 1" -50' hose and #4 nozzle went for $3,900.

Your model is different, Don't know what it would sel for?

Re: I Think I'm Done

just a thought, but this helped me make a few decisions about my own views today...
Napoleon’s advice to entrepreneurs, Part I: starting the enterprise

it's 3 parts, not very long, maybe a page or two each.

“The first principle of a general-in-chief is to calculate what he must do, to see if he has the means to surmount the obstacles with which the enemy can oppose him and, when he has made his decision, to do everything to overcome them.” --Napoleon

calculate your situation with an impartial eye, then make your decision on which way you are going to go, then do it... what ever it happens to be!

what ever it is, i wish you luck and Godspeed.

Joel

Grand, I am deeply sorry to hear about your miss fortune with the baby. My heart goes out to you and your wife.
Just wanted to say, I hope you stay on here and put your two cents in once and a while.
Good luck to you!
