Re: Growing A Business Q&A

Betterblast, I have three kids I love my family. If you want to be an employee at a company you can. If you want to risk your security own a company. You have to take a risk to make it and you have to be willing to do things others would not. I do it. I dont ask questions I get it done.

Paul , Just to be clear. I do own my business, for 20 years. We all choose our own level of risk and we all do things we know we shouldn't have to make a living. I understand your position.

Re: Growing A Business Q&A

i knew what you were saying paul...florida has some great advantages but also some great disadvantages also...housing is affordable right now...jobs are shrinking and people here are broke...i am learning to sit around alot and do my little tasks that i would usually be working and not afford the time to get them done.i hate sitting around.i like to work hard and make money.i feel like i am on unemployment with no check half the time...working in florida is a year round thing no time off for snow or the end of a season...you are trained to think you half to run on the hamster wheel year round to keep your family afloat...

I agree
No breaks for weather in the south, the other factor is the heat in my book, the summers get harder every year for me,
I'm hitting it hard here and when I retire I'm heading to Colorado.
Florida is a pretty place though.

Re: Growing A Business Q&A

I love this site. People from all over get to offer what they are up against. It gives an idea of how people from different parts of the states and even the world (in Audiosodas have to deal with). I am sitting cant turn a wheel because the temps have not came above fifty for close to a month. In MN we are waiting for an Indian summer. I made the mistake of having to much paint mixed for the next job. You guys are my out. I have to be a company guy during the day but you guys let me bull**** with people I dont have to Answer to in the moring. Do you understand that? Its hard to be the guy. this site has given me a way to vent.pa

Tony, How did you like the SSPC site. Did you register as a face on the net work?

Re: Growing A Business Q&A

I have been looking at it every chance I get, I have most of the free downloads to my computer, now to read that I think I will need to get going. Not sure what you mean here "Did you register as a face on the net work?"

Re: Growing A Business Q&A

Tony, the last time i was on the web site they had a place you could register as a face and net work with other people. I am going to check now but everything you need to know about painting and coatings is on the sspc and the jplc. This site is my place to vent about what we face everyday in the indstry. You can find all the info. you need there. It is the next level.

Tony, You dont have to take any classes just go as a contractor. The free classes are enough.
