Exhaust Fan?

Well, I am getting my blast room set up and am needing to install some exhaust fans. The building is 18'x21'x8' and have been looking at the Dayton 20" exhaust fans. How much air will I need to move to keep things visible in the room? I wont be heating it because it seem that it would be a waste of time and $$ when all of it will be sucked right out anyway. I don't need any type of filtering system as I am located in a rural area. I just need to suck all of that dust out of the room so I am able to see what I am doing. I will be running electric this week and dont want to run 220 if I don't have to.

Re: Exhaust Fan?

Killzone this is what I have been told when I have been looking at a dust collection system. You take the H x W x 60 = cfm of fan needed. So it looked like 18 x 8 x 60 = 8640

Re: Exhaust Fan?

killzone, are you looking for an exhaust fan or a dust collector. because an exhaust will blow all the dust outside, a dust collector captures it.

Re: Exhaust Fan?

Killzoneq2,
Go to sukup.com these fans are all explosion proof grain fans. I use them to clear out tanks and to force air into them. You dont need the cmfs they produce, but if you are in the country and see and old grain bin or see one on an auction it is a very cheap way to go to be explosion proof and the insurance guy will love it. The draw back on these fans is the noise. They have small blades in them that run very fast and they literally scream. I use this style of fan because it is a cost effective advantage for me in my rural area it may not be your answer but it is an avenue to explore for the expansion of your company.
