DOT Registration

Hey Guys,

When do you need to register with the US DOT for your trucks?

Thanks
Tony

Re: DOT Registration

Bulldog,
I may be wrong but I believe it has to do with GVWR and working across state lines.

Re: DOT Registration

In Michigan I have an Isuzu NQR (24,000lb rated) and was told I do not have to register it with the DOT as long as I was the ONLY driver, and hauled my own equipment, tools, and materials for my OWN projects.

I also don't need a CDL or chauffers, only a DOT Medical card.

Best to check right with ODOT. my dealer told me I didn't need anything special when I bought the truck and it cost me $175 for not having the medical card when a diesel bear did a spot check.
