Re: Coal Slag Blasting Swimming Pool

what do you use to seal cracks. I use vulkem 116 with accelerator. I have a pool that has hydraulic pressure on it in the deep end. We warrantied this pool for five years and I have to go back every year to re-do the deep part I have used every product I can get my hands on to stop the seepage. I cant get anything to work. This spring I plan on drilling holes to try to get it dry. I would like to know if you have any tricks.

Any cracks can be sealed with polyurethane injection. This will stop the water from either going out or coming in while you blast it.

Is coal slag the same as Black Beauty? Nasty stuff.

Re: Coal Slag Blasting Swimming Pool

MVH,
Most of the black beauty abrasive that is made comes from a company called ATI abrasives in Woodbury MN. They have contracts with Marco and many other companies in the US. My price In 07' was 70$ A ton for 20/40. I buy bulk and use old fertilizer trucks to get it to the sites I work on. There are also plants that manufacture coal slag all over the country. I used a plant in Wis. this year that was only forty miles from the job. They charged me 120$ a ton but I did not need to send a truck to the twin cities 140 miles away to get it. Time is money. You can find any coal slag abrasive plant by going to Coal Slag Abrasive in the state you need to find it in. It will take some digging but a little digging has saved me huge amounts of money in the past. If you dont want to use coal slag I like river rock almost every sand pit makes it and it is cheaper than slag. The main contact at ATI is Albee Cramer. Other names for coal slag I know of are Black Diamond and Black Jack if you need to find abrasive these names should help. I also have a plant in Nebraska that has plants in the south but they do not have a web site
