Any One Got #8 Or Wore Out Nozzle They Want To Sell?

I am wanting to experiment with a larger nozzle on car fenders. I use a #5 now but think if I make a larger fan the chance for warpage will be much less. I started these fenders with cob, and it was a slow process. So I switched to glass and got lucky. 1969 Firebird fenders. I got stuff to trade also so hit me up if you got something.

how much media did you use and what PSI were you running and nozzle size? And what do you charge for doing a door like that? Do you reclaim your walnut?

Re: Any One Got #8 Or Wore Out Nozzle They Want To Sell?

Chris that was a #5 at 110 psi at the pot. I never reuse anything. I have glass all over the floor so it would contaminate the non abrasives. It takes about one bag for a door and two for a big hood. I charged $80 bucks for that door. $50 labor and $30 per bag. I get $75 labor for a hood. I add on another $40 if it needs rust removal too which I like to use the fine glass for. If they want a cheaper blast I'll use the med glass but then they have to choose that on my invoice first. I do all outer auto parts with non abrasive unless instructed otherwise. For a whole car Iv'e been chargeing $500 plus material and costs. I tell them between $700. and $900. In the end I always figure my cost and throw $100 on it so I come out with at least $600 profit.

I have one guy that said he was bringing his truck for me to blast the cab inside and out. He was going to bring it the other night or next morning and he vanished. I told him $300. plus maybe $100 material. He said that sounded good but I think somone under bid me just as he was coming in. Oh well.

For price comparison I just got a #7 short venturi for $70 plus about $7. shipping. The short venturi gives you a wider spray. http://www.sand-blasters.net/shortve...ndthreads.aspx

edit1:

edit2: guess youtube doesn't like me any more it was working yesterday...
