I am curious if you are familiar with T. Kaiser and Centra Soda Blasting. He is Located between St. Cloud and Minneapolis. Not because your both from Minnesota do I expect you to know him and is Co., but he too seems to be very prosperous with Soda Blasting. He's been in it since '99. Had a fleet of dump trucks and sold them to soda blast. As far as I know soda is all he does. I bought my compressor from him. Just thought if you knew him you could tell me a little about what you might know about him. He seems very knowledgable and has helped me off and on. Also have you used BCS Industial Supply. I have bought some stuff there. All my hoses and couplings, nozzles, deadman, metering tube and 1 pot. Don't remember off the top of my head exactly they're located in MN. Could go down and look - too lazy right now. Just courious to know! Media Man |

Re: Anderson Sandblasting Pics.
that is some pretty impressive equipment you have there. My only wish would someday have a setup like that. And if i could blast without having to deal with moisture issues!
Anderson, I notice the dryers, i wish i could have 1 of those, but i dont have any room on the trailer for it. I am thinking about adding 1 of these to my existing setup, http://www.super-dry.com/d_series_en.htm It is smaller compared to your, but its good up to 300 cfm. Let me ask you this, how many hours or how often do you change the dessicants? |

Found this unit for sale if anyone is interested. It is under Titan abrasive site. www.titanabrasive.com. It is listed under the used/surplus equipment.
Just thought I'd throw it out here. Similar but different than what panderson has. Listed for $22,500.00 Media Man |

Re: Anderson Sandblasting Pics.
Four hundred gallons of fuel. One 375. Coal slag storage. One Schmidt 6.5 pot. Air dryer. 200' of blast hose and every tool to make it run for six months. The most important part of the whole rig is the blast nozzle. That is a super stick sold to me by BCS. Those guys are top notch. total price ... give it a guess..., I have saved Hundreds of thousands on this stuff. The truck that this is on was free.

Re: Anderson Sandblasting Pics.
The nozzle size has to be matched with the size of your compressor. The typical size for sandblasting is a no. 7. You also have to consider how much media you will be pushing. For soda blasting I think 250. Add up your air helmet plus loss for every 50' of hose. The 250 cfm air unit works because with a no. 7. nozzle you can not produce more than 90 psi. Soda blasting is a gentle process if you need to strip coatings beyond this you have to go to the next step. This is not by any means a rule you have to stick to. This part of my company makes up for .25% of my gross income. Soda blasting and media blasting is market that is a specialty. I Think all you guys have the right idea. Work hard to make $$$$. The money that you guys want is not in the small stuff but in the bigger stuff. That does not mean you need a contract with a general contractor. Go out to the agricultural community. They have big steel there they do not want to deal with big contractors. They want a guy that will be the only person they have to deal with. You have be friendly and smart. that is it. these people have old money it is not hard to get
