12SX Accustrip Blast Pot

Hi everybody, I'm a new member from the UK. What a great read this Forum is.

I'd like to ask your advice please about the Schmidt Accustrip SX12 pot, which was mentioned in an earlier post by Panderson.

I was interested in purchasing this machine and contacted Schmidt to ask if it could be used with any other media, apart from Sodium Bicarbonate.

They informed me: 'The 12SX Accustrip machine is specifically designed for Soda Bicarbonate only'

If I was buying it new I would have to follow the manufacturer's advice but I'm buying secondhand and it appears from Panderson's post that it's fine to use with crushed glass.

I'd appreciate any feedback on what media can be used with this machine in practice and what you guys think of it as a blaster. Cheers.

Re: 12SX Accustrip Blast Pot

You never want to put any other media than soda in a soda tank. These tanks will shoot other medias just fine but the tank will be contaminated and you will never want to blast around unmasked windows or cylinders again (no matter how well you think you cleaned it out). Make sure that the 2nd hand tank has had only soda put through it, if they do not know, I would not buy. You must have a seperate tank for shooting other blast media (sad but true).
