Re: Polyuurea
You have to do a lot of leg work. One thing that I will say. You mentioned oil companies. Polyurea is just another coating. You have to still follow standard coating preperation methods when applying polyurea. I have been on several jobs where someone went in and sold the customer on polyurea, and the contractor had no Industrial Coating experiance, and they did no surface prep and the job was a total failure. Try to stick to work that you know about and before you go and get into the industrial application area, please read up on surface prep standards and general painting practices for industrial coatings. Look at SSPC and the PDA for some insight. Polyurea has taken some hard hits due to bedliner guys trying to make it in Industrail applications and people that has had a bad job done will never forget. I have been working with Polyurea for over 12 years and I now do consulting and inspection work with many types of coatings and mostly polyurea's. If you want more information, feel free to contact me anytime. I would be glad to talk with you more.
