Painting a steel garage door?

I got a punch list from a regular client, we already put a new tan storm door on the front of his house, now he wants the 16' x 7' pre-finished white raised panel steel garage door painted to match. I'm an o.k. painter but I don't know if this is worth messing with for me. I'm thinking I tell him to pay about $500-600 for a new door and install it for about $200.00. Paint-steel-Illinois weather conditions don't sound like something I want to stand behind. Is painting a steel garage door a bad idea or not compared to replace? thanks

I've painted a few with All Surface Enamel from Sherwin Williams. High Gloss. Looks like a factory job. I spray them with an airless with 517 tip. Easy and actually works. This time of year best to spray in a shop and keep heated for a while to set paint.

Steel, (primed?) garage door

SWP high gloss for sure. Also try this: Spray a tack coat on the entire door with the SWP. This is a coat that does not cover. Just a very light coat. Don't thin your material. Open the door and put any kind of heater under it. It will warm like this. Heat goes...........you guessed it, up. After tack coat dries, spray a regular wet coat and repeat. Wah Lah. Of course I live in Central CA, so let me know. I've done this in the mid 20's and I didn't see any paint rolling off onto the concrete.

That sounds great. I feel better, too because someone else does it the same way. Encouraging. It is nice to feel we are kinda all in this together. And, by the way, it gets 20 in Ca??? I sure didn't know that.
