NEVER PAINT AGAIN/ performace coating

Has anyone heard of this process called polycoating. where they spray this primer then a sealant and then another coating on your house?. After getting this done they said you will never have to paint your house again. Guaranteed against fading, chipping, peel blister. Very expsensive, $6/sq foot. If anyone has any comments or thoughts please share. I also have a web site of a place that does this

There is a franchise of this company in my area. I have lost one job to them in a very very high end neighborhood. Other than that no threat to painters. They offer a 50 year warranty which is non transferrable, first of all. Second, there are so many variables, at least in New England with surfaces, due to moisture or whatever, that I find it hard to believe that a urethane/poly based coating can last that long. I painted a house directly across the street from the guy I mentioned 3 years ago for 6K, his neighbor spent almost 15K. The biggest difference is that you are using this magic paint ruse to charge people for the prep that every painter would love to do but few homeowners will pay for.

There are companies here in the Bay Area, CA that sell a "life coat" system. It's ceramic based, or so they say and they also say it's "NASA" certified and used on the shuttle, bla, bla, bla...

These guys also say they are the "exclusive" applicators of the product and that it is a life coat. I looked up the product on line and anyone can buy the overpriced unknown material. Ceramic based?? Hmmm?? Lest try this on a ship lap wood house or a Victorian. I can almost guarantee it will fail.

Most of these novel "life coat" businesses come and go and also sub out to hacks in my experience.

Yes at around 6.00 a surface sq ft it's VERY expensive. I priced out a job that was bid by the life coat guys, shopped the materials and told the owner we could buy and charge extra for that material, but recommended they go S.W. A-100.

I got the job and the customer saved around 10 grand!

I have to wonder if that product wouldn't promote mold growth in the building? Surely a urethane product can't aspirate.

I agree and use nothing but 100% acrylic 99% of the time on residential exteriors.
