Need advice on sealer problem.

Can I apply An acrylic based sealer over a water based sealer. I think the sealer may have wax on it. Any suggestions? I need to make the top coating have more durability.

acrylic coatings are water based. do you mean alkyd over acrylic?

what is the substrate? what are the coatings? why does it have wax on it?
