How Good Is Coating Over Ceramic Tile?

Hi Guys!

I have a ceramic-tiled bathroom (walls and tubwalls) and I'd like to know if anyone has had any bad experiences with the specialty coatings for tile, bathtubs and formica counter tops. I'd like to recoat my bathroom walls and tub since the tiles are intact but the color is out of style. Any voices of experience out there?

Thanx everyone.

There are a lot of products for tubs and tile. Some are epoxy primer with urethane, some are various forms of epoxy. Interestingly we tested most of them when developing a aerosol version of our Tile Doc product. They all failed when exposed to 140 degree water and were scratched. Some even turned to the consistency of peanut butter at 140 degrees. Our product is a proprietary formulation of a 2 component acrylic epoxy. Not cheap but it doesn't fail when scratched and exposed to hot and soapy water. PM me if you want any application tips or further information.
