Gel Staining Fiberglass Door Using Zar Gel Stain
Looking to chat with someone who has used Zar Gel Stain for a fiberglass door. It already has the wood grain look. I have only gel stained new doors that have a smooth surface. I used a brush and made it look like wood. Any suggestions out there. Could a spong roller be used in this case or would bubble the stain?

Re: Gel Staining Fiberglass Door Using Zar Gel Stain
Rub it on with the grain of the wood, let it set to the shade you want, wipe off same direction, go back with a brush and brush with the grain to get in all the veins.
I should add that method was for a Thermatru door with their finishing kit, but I assume the gel stains are close enough that it will work for you also. Last edited by Dan_Watson; 07-08-2008 at 10:09 PM. |
