Checker board epoxy floor

Hi, im going to do a checkerboard epoxy floor for a customer has anyone ever done one before that might have some tips, im planning on doing 16" squares, 2 coats as a white base coat, then snapping lines and taping off the squares and doing 2 coats of black then, unmasking and doing 2 more coats of a clear to seal it all down, does this sound like the way to do it or is there a faster way to do the squares, of coarse i plan to use a sander/grinder to prepare the surface too. but im just not sure if there is a trick to tape the squares off faster.

thanx
mike

I can't think of an easier way, sounds like you have it well planned out. I've never done checkerboard squares like that before, but have done lots of accent squares and stripes though. Good luck, post a pic of the finished floor.
