The Tide is Turning Towards Energy Efficiency

I can honestly say that in the past year alonge 65% of my customers are inquiring about green products only (i.e. windows, entry systems, exterior coating, etc.)

How about you guys, are you noticing the trend also, especially for solar energy solutions.

One day, in the not too distant future, the "green" movement will be recognized as the biggest scam ever perpotrated on the American public.

There's a sucker born every minute.

Geo-thermal heat systems are pretty neat. No noise of the compressor outside. Supposed to be very efficient.

I think green is like healthy food. People ask about it because it sounds like the right to do, but when it comes down to it they're not ready to try it.

"green" is definitely a marketing scam, but energy efficiency is important, it just seems like all EE products are cheap and won't last. And I just could not get used to a basement wall that was Styrofoam instead of cold damp concrete.

Hey, I didn't say that all the crap is crap did I. But you have to admit, if you read through all the trade publications some of the stuff they are calling green is just plain silly.

The term "Green" IS BS!

Reduce... Reuse. NOT recycle.

Turn off the Damn lights. Use better bulbs. Carpool (office persons). Do one less load of laundry per week. Check tire pressure. DO NOT buy a Hybrid. Stop being so damn self-centric. Wear a sweater during Winter while indoors..................

Yes, drive electric cars that have hazardous waste as batteries. The styrofoam wall one I love. I love watching 'Big Sky Development' across the street from me pour those walls too full and they bend and twist. Can't wait to see what the insects do to them. Styrofoam! Yeap, that'll break down in a few thousand years.

Only way to go really green is to use nuclear power and no one wants one of those plants anywhere near their backyard, so we all know it's just hype.

Nuclear Energy IS the answer to Power Station Emissions. Look at France.

I know that but it's one of those things that no one wants a nuclear reactor near their home. Until people realize they're quite a bit safer then they were, it ain't gonna' happen.

I suppose if storing tons of radioactive waste and using depleted uranium for weapons is considered green, one could dismiss hydro-electric and wind power as the real green energies

So you'd rather have us dam all the rivers and create massive lakes and wipe out all the birds? Where you gonna' build these wind turbines as they seem to take up a LOT of room?

I think China is building the world's largest dam and they displaced about thirty million people to do it.

We should have nuke plants going online every month for the next few years and we could store all the extra waste in Castelgar BC.

Geothermal are extremely efficient and "green" until one looks at all the energy required to earn the significant amount of money that is required to install one.

The savings in utility bills is definitive. However if one was to take the additional $20,000-$25,000 to install one and put it in a modest interest accruing investment one make more money in the payback period.

(Of course then there are those who believe that earning 1/2% interest during the next 12 months will be lucky)
