Green Advertizing

I have recently completed LEED Certification and I am Registered Certifying Agent in the state of Florida. I am looking for ways to "get our name out" as a green builder and certifying agent.

Re: Green Advertizing

Put it all on your paperwork & advertising and express it in appropriate dialogue with potential clients. Know a hell of a lot on green principles and how and whento apply them regarding home building. Over here in Australia, we have HIA "Greensmart". Sounds similar to what you have in the States.

Re: Green Advertizing

How difficult was the LEED certification and what did it entail? I've been thinking about doing this as well and would be curious to hear your experience...

Re: Green Advertizing

EDS,

The LEED test was open book or the Florida Certifying Agent test was open book? Also, what exactly is a Florida Certifying Agent? Thanks.

Re: Green Advertizing

The LEED test is not open book, so he must have been talking about the Florida test.

Re: Green Advertizing

The Government will list you on their site for free, I forgot what site it is, do a search.

It's not http://www.epa.gov/greenbuilding/ , but maybe energy star or something, there are very few contractor listed currently and it would be a good time to get on board.

*Disclaimer: I don't buy all the "global warming" or green BS, I do believe in conservation and recycling.

Re: Green Advertizing

Edconstruction,

Which certification did you get. I am studying for LEED new construction v2.2. I am at the part about energy and atmosphere. Site selections and water efficiency were pretty easy, but the EA is like walking through waist deep mud. How much of the test material was stuff that was not in the reference guide?
