EIFS with siding?

Anyone know of any products that you can insulate the exterior with and use siding instead of stucco?

Certain companies make foam boards with nailing strips in them. You can also make them yourself and save a few bucks. I'll try to find the info on my foam slicer. essentially I take 3"-4" foam and slice 3/4 x 1 1/2 grooves and then glue ply strips into it. The important part is making the ply strips lay out over the studs, and then using a long screw to secure it.

I hang viynl over 2" foam all the time. Be sure the wall is wrapped under the eps board, sprayfoam all cracks and seal it well. I use the same washers they use on the eifs system to attach the foam

I use 3' zinc coated screws and go right into the studs to hang the siding

If your going to do alot of foam work then Id get a hotnife or build a hotwire table......routers and power saws work fine but make a hell of a mess

You're on the right track, guys. A minimum of 1" rigid Dow or equal in combo with a 2x4 wall frame filled with r-13 glass can move the 37 to 40 degree occurence somewhere into the rigid foam layer, eliminating most dew point condensation which would otherwis occur in the fiberglass. With mold/mildew/athsma/allergy litigation building momentum on us, it is wise to learn all you can about levels of vapor retarders; and when and where to use them. Check out buildingscience.com or something like that. Just google buildingscience and you'll find it. Then go to Mold Control.....BTW insulated siding is a joke!
