Nice, very nice.

I'm curious how you handled the radiant heat floor in regard to your liability?

Was there a pressure test prior to your starting to verify it was working prior to your start and was there a test after you got done screwing down the CBU?

Thats all in the heating guys hands. They don't seem to be too concerned about the fact that if there is a problem it's going to be a NIGHTMARE to repair anything under that floor.

You're kidding me? Unless the heating guys are totally brain dead don't you think they will drag you into it?

If I'm reading your right, as of right now, nobody knows if the floor has any leaks in it or not?

Re: Starting The Slate Floor Monday

I have been in contact with the heating guys and the GC from day one of the floor. The floor hasn't been holding pressure since the start. I was giving the go ahead by the owner of the heating co. to continue. Sounds screwy, but believe me it's WELL documented.

OH my!

They covered the floor up knowing it wasn't right! Guess you didn't even need to worry about marking the lines.

Just kidding.

Re: Starting The Slate Floor Monday

I have done 12 of heat floors and 6 of them did not hold pressure when tested. When they actually where filled and turned on not a leak.

There seems to be a problem IMO. Something wrong with the process of testing for leaks. They never seem to hold air pressure half the time. I have seen a few post talking about it here and my ac guy has had it happen several times that the air test failed but the system worked just fine.

Re: Starting The Slate Floor Monday

I did some reading and it seems that it's common to test these systems at 100 psi using air but they are designed to function at about 20 psi when running.

Sorry to hijack your thread - (slate looks awesome) I'm curious about how the industry handles this.
