New Top, Ready to go
Just finishing this one, it is going to be installed in a high end designer showroom. Undermount deep SS sink to be installed, cabinets are cherry. I think it will show well. G

You need to, or better said, I need you to have me over so I might experience this process!
Looks like fun and method!
I would like to see different colors of Glass AND Tire Rubber added to the mix!

This one has 2 colors of glass, and mirror. The rubber would probably not perform to well for a countertop.

I will do a test tile, and report back, i guess rubber can be extremely hard and durable, i would like to find colors. i also would be concerned about the reaction our grinders have to the rubber. G

Foul out nearly all "Abrasive Disks".
90% of "Recycled/Reclaimed" tires wind up in our roadways as a Aggregate Filler.
Tire Rubber is Vulcanized and therefore handle EXTREME Temperatures and wear.
One of the BEST sources of "Green" (W ever TF that means)Technology.

Gene - as always nice work
If you don't mind, why did you put the seam right in the middle where the sink is, wouldn't it have been better off to the side of the sink by a foot or so, or am I missing something?

No problem, by placing in the middle, i reduced the visible seam lenth to 4'', instead of 24''. the back portion near the faucet is almost completely hidden by the faucet. Additionally we make a special color matched epoxie to join, and hide the small front portion. After my final install, that front seam will NEARLY vanish, i will follow up with a photo after install. G.

Also safer to transport, NOT having that 4" support the remaining material.

You are slowly changing my mind on concrete tops.
Nice work!
I'm guessing colored concrete could look good as well.

CJ, yes, transport is much safer--K, we do colors most of the time, as a matter of fact, this top is a camo green, hard to see in the photo. When meeting with the client, we offer them the entire Benjamin Moore wheel for them to choose color.

V seal- 2 part process, mat is very expensive, but is supposed to be one of the best sealers around. part 1 is a penetrative, 24 hr dry time. Then part 2 is a topical, we apply 5 coats, with 1 hr dry between. G

I've read about the v-seal.
I used diamond clear quite abit. Its fairly expensive as well, but its got a bit higher build it seems compared to v-seal. But it is impregnable. I did a 12 hour stain test with a piece sealed with it and it held up against mustard, bleach, coffee, and bbq sauce.
