Granite Patio

Here is a job we are about to complete....if it ever stops raining. Materials in the design are Salt&Pepper Granite pattern pavers, Black Diamond Granite Pavers as the border, NewEngland fieldstone walls, and Bluestone capping (also used as raised border), and lighting by Vista.

Picture 1 is the design for the job.....

Everything is just damp in the pictures. There is no finish or sealant.

The granite and bluestone have a thermal finish from the quarry.

The granite is 1 1/2" thick. This application is dry set over 8" of compacted reprocessed asphalt with a 1" bedding layer of concrete sand.

We only use the reprocessed asphalt because it’s the only aggregate that consistently meets astm-2940 from my supplier. I would prefer just straight stone, but it gets the job done. I have not experienced the bituminous properties of the aggregate having any effect on the above stone but it is always in the back of my mind.

That's some beautiful workmanship. Love the light feature

What software program are you using for the rendering? Great job.

Many programs are used to achieve the final results, but Vue7 Xtreme is the render engine. Here are some other angles. You like 'em?

Heck yeah. When a customer sees a realistic presentation of their home with added construction, it further solidifies them to hiring you. Good job.

Thanks for the compliments. I tried to take some photographs at night, but it proves to be difficult to get the camera setting just right.

Nice. I've used that stone before. Used it inside in a 3 season room.

great work

the overhead view is special. words escape me just had to look at it for a while in silence. Still cant think of good enough words. lol very very nice!!
have over 20 years in masonry without ever doing any granite. only saw i have ever needed was skill saw with diamond blade used mainly for fireplace mantles or the hearth. dont worry about the 8" of compacted reprocessed asphalt. as long as you packed it tightly.
