What Year Was It?

What year was it that lead based solder such as 50/50 and 40/60 were ruled illegal? I know it was around the early to mid 1980's but I would like to know the actual year.
Thanks for your help.

Re: What Year Was It?

IIRC it was the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1986.
