Other, Chicago writes it's own code, and Illinois has it's own code, based loosely on Chicago's code.

Re: What Plumbing Code Do You Use

We now use the IPC. We used to use a unique code based on the National Plumbing Code.

I wouldn't be surprised one day to hear the argument that imported labor trained to use the IPC should be allowed to work big projects because they are working to the same standards as local plumbers, but will work for less, thereby saving the 'consumer' money in the long run.

If one more corporation looks out for my interests, I'm gonna be broker than broke.

In Minnesota you have to make the crescent cutout on the outhouse door a certain minimum size.

I work with the IPC's and IFGC's,though there are municipalitys here like ok.city that have there own addendum booklet/supplements.I wish everyone was on the same page.I just plumb to the most stringent codes and hope I don't fail on some quirky local thing.I was telling an inspector yesterday,it's hard to work in the various munic. with eveyone having thier own code system.

UPC with the special Washington state requirements.

Off-topic: Washington has very active personal licensing requirements. A apprentice has to be licensed from day 1 and a Journeyman has to be on the job. The fines start at 1,000.00 and they do check.
