Water Pressure With On Demand Heaters

Hi - If been considering installing an on demand water heater in my own house. Right now I have an indirect BoilerMate and in the summer I'm wasting oil.
My question is about water pressure in an on demand heater. Is the pressure reduced by running through the tight coil or not.
Also on a recent trip to Europe is saw on demand heaters that had actual small tanks (maybe 5 gallons) for the circulation hot water loops to fixtures. Do they sell units like that here.

Thanks ....

Re: Water Pressure With On Demand Heaters

Hi there,

Assuming you buy a high quality tankless heater, there is no pressure or volume drop. There are no spiral coils that the water travels through to heat up. Now, this is true for all the gas heaters that I have seen, which is almost all of them. Can't say for electric.
With a gas tankless, there is actually about a 1/2 gallon bladder that holds water. The ones in Europe are a little different, and from what I understand, they often use mulitple heaters.

good luck
