Water Line

i spend quite alot of my time voulntering at doberman pinscher rescue....i have 4 dobes my self 2 of them rescues

and id like to run a water line to the kennel

it is 200' from the house to the kennel only problem is there is a large creek running in between the house and the kennel there is a small bridge that you need to cross to get to the kennel....there is absolutlry no way in routing around the creek.....

so my question is what is the best way to cross it without the line freezing in the michigan winters....my first thought was to pound a well by hand....yea not a problem but if we dont hit water it will be a waste...i have a small kubota excavator that i will be using to dig the trench....along with my laborers to trench under the footings....

keep in mind this needs to be done on a budget..its not like i have the money to spend to get a well drilled....and anyone that is a dog lover knows money is tight in rescue....i will be paying for all materials...but im not rich by any means....

any suggestions on how to cross the creek???? the creek does not freeze

Re: Water Line

Why don't you just pressurize the line? There is an equation that for every psi of pressure lowers or rasies the boiling and freezing temp

Re: Water Line

Use Pex pipe, if it does freeze it won't split, what better way to test out the pex plumbing system, heat type all exposed pipe and thermo wrap it..

Re: Water Line

Dig a hole on each side of the creek and air bore a pvc sleeve to put your water line through.

Re: Water Line

How are you getting water to the kennels now? I would run an on demand pump from the creek itself. I dont know what to do about the freezing, we dont have that problem here in Hawaii. Maybe you can run a pipe as deep as possible. Im pretty sure the whole creek wont freeze, just the top.
