Water Heater Right Size.
I just installed an hydronic air handler in a house that is being "re-modeled". The problem was that the homeowner purchased an 80 gallon electric water heater and although it barely keeps up with the heating load, the water is luke-warm for "domestic" use.
It's a long story on who & what, but the bottom line is we need a water heater that can handle the load of both domestic water & heating the hydronic coil. The supply house reccomended a 65 gallon high recovery (Bradford White). Supply houses are correct frequently, but they have been known to be incorrect as well. This is something that I/we can't be wrong with. I am the one responsible for picking the appliance that is most economical that will get the job done. Any thoughts on the best appliance, for the money, to do the job are surely, appreciated. The house has two bathrooms, (one jetted tub), and three bedrooms. |
