Vanity Install ?

Doing a bsmt reno that a 36" vanity and cultured marble top will be installed.

Yes, I did pull a permit and the plumber will be doing the install.

I've seen these installed so many different ways, caulk on the edge of the vanity top, caulk behind the back splash then squished into the wall....

Just want to see how you guys install ?

I suppose all install methods - undoing it after 6 months or so is fubr ?

Level the cabinet and attach it to the backing in the wall if the carpenter did not already install it, run a bead of acrylic adhesive caulk all the way around the top edge of the cabinet and set the marble top on top of that, then run a bead of caulk around the backsplash to keep moisture out.

Re: Vanity Install ?

a few dabs of silicone on top of vanity will hold good, be sure to do it where it is accessable. i've done alot of these and the worst is when you can't get at it when it to cut/pry when it has to be removed

You're right. When we looked at the job the plumber said it was beyond (42" ?) but he would call the inspector prior to R/I. The coupling is where the old site built van was.

I suggested an AAV in the vanity?

He met the inspector there for the R/I insp. It passed.
