Toilet Problems

Hey everyone,

I recently remodeled my in-laws master bath and now we are experiencing strange toilet issues. The original toilet was set at a 12" rough-in, but when the plumber's helpers came out to relocate the supply and drain lines for the vanitys they also reset the toilet at a 10" rough. The flange is still in the same place, just 2" closer to the wall. So, we ordered an American Standard Cadet with a 10" rough-in. The specs call for a 9"x11" water table but it will hold water only to about a 2"x3" table, and when the bowl does fill to the proper height it's only a matter of minutes until it's almost empty. We have no leaks. The vents are properly sized and are clear. The original toilet operated just fine. We thought it was a faulty toilet, but we've bought another brand/model and the problem is still present. FYI, they are on city sewer. Thanks

So it's just the bowl water that drains out, or is the tank draining out too, and the valve refilling?

Is the floor level?

Floor is level and the water only drains from the bowl.

Camera the line to inspect for blockage. A better quality toilet may perform better too. Toto makes some that adjust from 10 to 14 inch roughs.
