Thermal Store

hi, I have awful hot water head and thus poo flow in my flat (served by a equally poo primatic combination tank from the 70s) ive been thinkingm as i dont have a great deal of head hight or space, of building a solid fuel, ground /air source heat pump, economy 7 (no gas) heated thermal store (just a coil of 10 to 15mm copper/ hep inside the existing tank and removing the header/expansion tank or linking it to an sealed expansion vessel /raised expansion tank
the theory works fine (obviously with a pressure regulator on the internal coil) but my question is, in you view, will the tank chill to quickly (I cant run a full bath now due to it chilling).

Im loathed to install a pump and spending £500 on a thermal store doesnt make me jump for the nearest merchants either...

Re: Thermal Store

I'd be happy not having to break out the calculator to figure metric to standard.

I bought a tape measure that reads in metric and standard, it makes my life a little easier.

Re: Thermal Store

i reiterate... in laymans terms im a tight ass who doesnt want to buy a thermal store. with serveral heating mediums that may or may not work im going to modify an existing tank with the heat pump coil, the solid fuel coil and the transfer coil (fed reduced from the mains) will the tank of hot water chill to quickly, (ie will it run a decent depth bath) in your humble opinion... 165 litres capacity...36 gallons,(done the maths for you, no abacus required.), ... if im still going to have to wait an hour to finish topping my bath (the flow will be sorted but will it hold enough heat energy before the hot water in the tank begins to be chilled by the cold water passing through the internal coil ) then its pointless and will have to run either a two cylinder system, or a larger tank (which i dont have room for) (btw you may be thinking why not fit a oil or lpg boiler??? coz i dont want to... thats to easy)
