Sump Pump Burnt Up..WHAT IS THIS GOOP?
Too many irons in the fire...left a sump pump running in a rainwater collection tank overnite and woke up to the horrible realization that something like mayonaise was floating all over the surface of the remaining water..and had flowed into the transfer tank as well. I contacted the manufacturer when I bought this Ace sump pump and was assured it was like a mineral oil, harmless. Now I am getting the scare tactic that it is a petroleum based product requiring all kinds of extreme measures to dispose of properly. My local MUD district advised kitty litter which I did use but was insufficient to completely absorb all, but did settle it to the bottom for the most part. The harmful matterial rating is 1 of 4. Anyone out there know whether I can release the left over diluted in 800 gallons, cover it with something, pray or whatever and be done here?
