Some Pics Of Damaged Csst


I got the bid on the csst repipe. I will try to post some pics of the damaged pipe.

WOW!
Thats unreal...the original coating is charred & melted into beads.
In ten years I can count the number of times I've used CSST on my own jobs on one hand. (yeah, I know..I'm in the dark ages)
Not a big fan of it, maybe Trackpipe, but still not when I can hardpipe.

Anything that is exposed I run in black,and my trunk line as well to the manifold, then I'll take off with the csst from there.
They are still saying the pipe got energized by a wire coming in contact with it.

OK. But something ain't making sense to me. Was it a high voltage line?

I might be wrong, but I think he posted a thread when he first saw this job...if I recall it was lightening.

I believe it was the incoming service and it touched near the gas meter which is next to the house.The electricians came in before me and installed a new service but I haven't looked deeper to see what else is replaced .I'll know more soon.

I can't tell from the picture. Did the csst perforate or is still holding pressure?
