Sewer Gas
I have a new house with an aerobic sewer system. We seem to be getting a lot of sewer gas from the vents in the roof. Our house is surrounded by tall pines and maybe it is not letting the gas dissipate into the air. Is a running trap made from four 4 inch 45's? Won't the solids get plugged up in it eventually and overflow the toilets? What about check valves installed on the roof vents to let air in but keep the gas from exiting? We have a sewer gas smell in our house mostly around the stairs and in our bedroom clothes closet. I think I am going to have a smoke test just to rule out any broken vents.
