Repairing Shower Pan

Installed shower pan for customer-after installing cust. wanted more of a slope in drain-can you go in and lay something like metal maze over existing concrete to pour additional or do you recommend tearing completely out the original and start all over??

Re: Repairing Shower Pan

Is it a mud pack shower base? How thin/thick will the additional later be at the drain and at the wall?

If you have to start with a feather edge and go up from there, I would use a vinyl modified concrete, such as Quikrete's vinyl patch. It can be feathered from 1/16" to 1 1/4" in one layer. Dampen the existing base first to help with adhesion. Then use a modified thinset and you should be all set.

What type of shower pan, how was it installed, is there a pre-slope under the liner, how was the curb built?

Yes, it is a mud pack base and I was going to add 1/4" at drain and 3/4" @ wall.

I understand that, what type of liner was used, lead, pvc, cpe, and is there a layer of mud under it, you don't have to remove any wall tile unless redoing the whole pan, still would like to know how this was constructed from the start.
