Question on fiberglass handicapped shower

I got a call yesterday for an estimate on a change out from a tub to a handicapped shower fiberglass unit, the unit is 60" same as the tub opening but i'm sure these units are just for new construction , the problem are in the walls interior their 4" block walls , has anyone ever installed this type of shower with block walls ,I dont think it can be done unless the H.O. goes to a shower base unit and tile the walls .
Thanks in advance

What part of it is making you think it can't be done? It should be a 4 piece unit if it is a remodel. What is the problem with mounting it to blocks instead of studs?

Thanks Mike for the reply ,That would be nice if it were a 4 piece , but its one of those 1 piece fiberglass units with 3 sides and the shower floor all in one , That you see in the home centers , the H.O. bought it without checking first to see if it'll work .

Yep, that's a new construction unit.

Just tell him you'll install it, he just needs to get it in the bathroom for you. Either that or ask him where he would like the new seams that you are going to create with your recip saw.

Hope he kept the receipt.
