Troy is Moonlighting using his Employers License and Equipment as well as their Supplies!

He can afford to be that cheap! At the cost of his Employer.

Re: The Problem With Craigslist...........

He'll get real sick of working like a dog for insane hours with nothing to show for it.
He'll find himself cutting corners towards the end of each job as he adds up the profits.
Meanwhile, unknowing homeowners will use him, local shops will lose work to him, finally he'll get a reputation as a "budget plumber", thats the only form of repeat business he'll get as he stares at his quarterly earnings wondering why he can't increase his income.

You reap what you sow.

I love how they compare pricing as if the ones who are charging more are the crazy ones!

Re: The Problem With Craigslist...........

You would think the Florida DBPR would be all over it. Think about it, I love to fish... here you have a pond where the fish are giving you the bait. It is a minimum of a $1000.00 fine and misdemeanor crime for your first offense. If they have a contract to tie to the offense it becomes a 2500.00 fine. Second offense is a $5000. fine and carries a 3rd degree felony. All at a time when local and state government are hurting for cash flow as bad as the masses are right now. EASY MONEY..... The solution start paying the DBPR officials commision, they will have CL cleaned up in a day or less.

I also realize that the guy that hires a scmuck like this was probably not caring about quality or security to begin with. Hence, I was not going to get the job because the customer was more concerned about price than quality or the security of knowing the contractor has insurance to protect them. In this respect I am glad that guy got the call so I could focus on the clients that care about quality and security.

Hey guys, I found an address by typing his contact phone number into www.anywho.com. He says his name is Troy. Assuming that's his name with Google Earth you could find all plumbing outfits within a radius and point them to Craigslist. All of this probably right from your computer by email. Who's up to the task?

In California you cannot advertise as a plumber or any other specialized trade requiring licensure without a license. Also in that advertisement you have to place your contractors license. However a lot of guys get away with doing stuff they shouldn't be doing by advertising as "handyman" . Law requires that if the aggregate of labor and materials is above $500 you MUST have a license. I heard of a sting in our area where they had a "dumby" house that need things from new roof to replace the faucets in the bathroom to new air conditioner. Once the "perps" took the bait they cops arrested them. I heard this from another contractor but I assume the sting was initiated by the CSLB of california. Glad someone is doing something.I play by the rules, these sacks of excrement should as well. I think they should go back the the freeway overpass and change their sign from "Will work for food" to "Will work for prison". ***steps down off his soap-box***. Thank you have a nice day. THEIF!!!
