Plumbing Air Compressor Lines

I have plumbed air compressor lines in my shop with 1/2'' and 3/4'' copper. It work fine, but what is the preferred trade method of plumbing a shop with compressor fed air lines, around 150 PSI maybe 175???

I had a couple of mechanical type guys renting a house from me years back and they ran 1/2" pvc everywhere in the garage.

Me, I use a hose.

Do you know what it like to get shards of razor sharp slivers of plastic stuck in you? Wonder if they knew.

PVC is not rated for use with air, when it explodes and shatters, it will send plastic schrapnel into people and it does not show up on X Rays.

Do not use PVC for air lines.

Re: Plumbing Air Compressor Lines

I would use copper or black-iron myself. Probably black iron for the best cost/safety ratio.

Just my .02 cents.
