Plumbers In The United States Will Soon Begin Learning Greener Ways
Tradesman News
Tradesman News - Ray Herbert interviewed on H2O Today TV (8/22/2007) Plumbers in the United States will soon begin learning greener ways after signing on to the Australian GreenPlumbers initiative developed by the Master Plumbers’ and Mechanical Services Association of Australia (MPMSAA). The California Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors (CAPHCC) signed a 15-year deal with the MPMSAA to implement Australia’s most ambitious environmental program. Under the agreement up to 40,000 California plumbers will receive training in water and energy saving methods. Ray Herbert, CEO of the MPMSAA negotiated the deal with California after addressing environmental leaders at the State Capitol in Sacramento in April. The discussion on global warming highlighted the significant impact ‘green’ plumbing has had on water and energy savings in Australia. Source - Master Plumbers Association any of you guys heard of this?

Breaking news, after finding out the ink they signed the agreement with caused cancer in lab rats (when ingested on toilet paper) the California PHCC backed out of the deal.

Green plumbing? Copper and Lead and Tin are all recyclable as are plastics.
If you're refering to new technology, it's all in the $ balance. Solar breaks even in about 10 yrs. in FL, less the farther north that you go. Instant heat water heaters are not all that dependable yet and really suck if the power goes out, my water heater will keep it warm enough for a shower for a few days in case of a power outage (hurricane).

Here the gas co's give pretty big rebates on efficient boilers at increments of 85% @ $500 & 90% @ $800, also on tankles & indirect water heaters $300...great selling feature.
