Pipes Squeeling---need Help

Hey guys, I'm having an issue with the water pipes in my home squeeling, this only happens when one of the three anti-scald tub/shower valves is being used, not with any other water source. any ideas and what might be going on.

If it's only happening at one valve it sounds like there may be something loose/out-of-alignment/broken at the valve,or a partially blocked port [such as solder].That's what I'd look for first.

Re: Pipes Squeeling---need Help

Sorry, I should have worded it differently. it happens when any of the three valves is being used, not just one specific valve.

Is the diverter in the spout?
I have one that you can hear
any where in the house when
it's pulled up for the shower.

Pressure increase on the house, have a PRV on this house? Could have gone bad. Test the pressure.

Re: Pipes Squeeling---need Help

thanks guys, No reducing valve in the house (don't need one)

it happens on our shower valve (Delta anti-scald--shower only)
our kids valve (delta anti-scald--tub/shower-- either spout or shower use)
our guest bath valve (delta anit-scald---tub/shower--either spout or shower use).

How old are these valves?

I've run into the pressure balance spool causing this problem on one shower. Replacing the spool solved this problem.

There were two others just like it in the house, but they did not cause this situation when used.

This was on a Delta 600 series faucet.

If those valves are that new, then I'm with Ron. Check the incoming pressure to the house. Don't go off what anyone 'tells' you the pressure is unless they measure it.

You can buy a pressure test gauge from any good plumbing supply house for under $20.00 that will screw on any hose bibb.
