Pex Tube Leak Under Cement Floor
Guys, I am a small general contractor and did a 50X50 storage shed for a guy. Pex tubing was installed by the heating/outside wood boiler guy and somehow the heating or cement guy damaged the pipe. We have 2 out of 6 zones not holding pressure and leak. How in the world are we going to find the leak? We pressure tested the two bad zones and one drops fast. The second zone very slowly drops when we pump it up to 85 to 90 PSI. The boiler/pex system is open and the only pressure is from the pump moving the water through the pipe. Does anyone know if we can hook back up the zone with a very slow leak at 85 PSI and what to do with the one that has a major leak?

Re: Pex Tube Leak Under Cement Floor
I have 2500 plus feet of Warmboard sub-floor in a house and we just got the radiant heat system installed. The tubing has been in all during construction. I have posted about this before.
Engineered bamboo flooring is about to be placed over the floor. I've tested the system six ways from Sunday and I'm still nervous about future leaks. Keep us posted on how you find the leaks, I'm assuming the same equipment could be used if there are leaks under wood flooring? |

Re: Pex Tube Leak Under Cement Floor
Thats indeed a bummer. I don't know if this will help but maybe http://www.boldstarinfrared.com/radiant.html
How slow is the slow leak? Have you noticed any wet spots? Do you have any photo documents indicating the general area of the suspect loops? If the leaking loop/ loops aren't along exterior walls and depending upon the spacing of the installation I would perhaps consider abandoning the loops. Re: Pex Tube Leak Under Cement Floor
Radiant floor heat goes in without joints in the floor, it's all about careless construction, many things can cause a puncture in the pipe, so don't go blaming it on the pipe. It was tested before the pipe were covered right? Then it's not the pipe that caused the leak.

I remember back in grade school there was this kid....skinney little runt that was always talking smack. Always stirring up shyit and making up stories. I wound up getting into a fight with him at school. Our punishment was we had to sit in the same room next to eachother for an entire day. We bacame best friends and I am going to see him in a few days for Christmas. Malco, do you need a friend?

Re: Pex Tube Leak Under Cement Floor
Haa, while this friend from school is a long time friend, the help bury the body friends are...and this is gonna sound so bad, but two guys that on two seperate time I got into fights with on the baseball field during little league. One was a pitcher that hit me and started laughing the other was a second basemen. The 2nd basemen is the buy I would consider my best friend. I have traveled the world with him, been in the same room with a few ladies with him (and I ain't saying anything else about that night) etc..etc...
Why is that, that one neads to beat someones ass inorder to be good friends? Is this how the gangs think? I dunno, but Malco next time I'm up in NY (which would only be for a Red Sox game) we should fight, than go get some beers. It would be the start of a life long friendship!!! LMAO

“But I’m not a Sox fan,” the little hero replied. “Sorry, since we are in Chicago, I just assumed you were,” said the reporter, and he began writing again. “Cubs Fan Rescues Friends from Horrific Attack,” he continued writing in his notebook. “I’m not a Cubs fan either,” the boy said. “I assumed everyone in Chicago was either for the Cubs or the Sox. What team do you root for?” inquired the reporter. “I’m a Yankees fan,” the child responded. The reporter turned the page in his notebook and wrote “Little Brat from New York Kills Beloved Family Pet.”
