Pex Colored Lines

In Menards the PEX tubing comes in two colors, red/blue. Both have identical labeling info on them in terms of heat limitations, etc., etc.. The guy there couldn't answer my question, which is WHY two colors? I assumed they're for identifying cold vs hot. If so, is there any zoning violation if one uses one color for both hot/cold water? Thanks.

Your assumption is correct.

No, they are the exact same thing except for colors. I had an inspector ask about the heat range when my plumber used all blue in a section after running out of the red, I showed him the heat range is the same no matter what color. He approved and we moved on.

The colored pipe is for those that don't recall what pipe was used for the hot and cold lines, means nothing else.

Well...I doubt you will find that. Purple is for reclaimed water. They do make spray paint

I don't think your town's zoning board really cares what color your pipework is.
